The British Ranch:

Sycamore Falls

We christened one of our favorite places on the ranch "Sycamore Falls" because of the tree that grows at the top of the 8' falls.  This spring fed stream flows year-round unless the summer season becomes very dry.  We'll be able to tell you the current status if you call or e-mail.  I took these photos in early April so that the trees would not impede the view.  During the summer, the foliage provides a cool shady spot to contemplate the natural beauty while you enjoy the sounds, sites and wildlife of the ranch.

The top of the falls is located right in the middle of the photo.

Looking downstream from the falls. The redbud trees were just starting to bloom in the early April photo.

A closer view of the top of the falls. Navigable by foot or horse.

The grove on the other side of the falls. Our family likes to tent camp here.

Following are 5 shots from the top of the falls. The first drop is about 8'.

Yes, the water really is a beautiful blue-green color!

And crystal clear too!

Further downstream yet. An idea of the topography.
